How It All Began

Jonathan James Hanuse is from the Klahoose First Nation located on Cortes Island, British Columbia. Throughout his childhood he was surrounded by guitars and music equipment. Many friends and family would go to his house for jam sessions. It was only a matter of time before he picked up a guitar and started playing. He draws his inspirations from blues and country roots but adds small town island life style to his music.

Hanuse has played on stage as an opening act for Jesse Roper and Tan and Hide. Hanuse is always eager to play and has performed at small music festivals, solo acts, and open mic nights throughout his entire career.
